The characters are so vivid I can see each, I can smell the smoke that is produced by the human torch and I feel that I know them all. Even though any story about aliens is about cultural diversity, this tory covers aliens, humans, mutants, rich people, poor people, the haves and havenots, the themes about self acceptance, battling against bigotry and class snobbery are timeless. The interaction between the main female and male characters is always exciting, even if predictable. I love that the author took on the subject of sex slavery and we get to see a kingpin go down in flames literally. Strong, smart, kickass female characters, wonderful men. His voice sounds like warm brandy tastes. This book really is five stars beginning with the voice at audible.
